HBRC was formed in April 2005 with the move to a permanent offroad track at the Hawkes Bay showgrounds in Hastings. Race meetings are twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, at 10:00 am. We run both nitro and electric at the same meeting.

The track is smooth hard-packed soil built on contoured ground giving a top plateau, sloping to the lower part of the track. A mixture of wide straights, flowing corners, a tight "S" section and the change of elevation making a challenging course with good lap times in the 20 second range. Races can be run in either direction but usually anti clockwise.

The track is marked with Nova-flow, and has a permanent drivers stand. Plenty of parking, toilets and water. Timing is AMB gear. Holeshots are the tyres of choice.

Please note: the track is located within the A & P Society Showgrounds and is only accessible by club members.

From the South: Coming into Hastings along Maraekakaho Road, go straight through Stortford Lodge roundabout onto Pakowhai Road. Just before the edge of town turn right into Frederick Street and continue straight down Frederick Street, over the railway line to the traffic lights at Karamu Road. Turn left. The showgrounds are on the left about 800 metres along Karamu Road. Use Gate B with the Summit stone entrance, on Karamu Road.

From the North 1): Coming into Hastings down Pakowhai Road, turn left into Elwood Road about 1km before the 50km sign. Go straight down Elwood Road, over the railway line to the end. The Showgrounds are on your right. Turn right into Karamu Road and use Gate B with the Summit stone entrance about 50 metres from the corner.

From the North 2): Coming from Napier via the waterfront and Clive. As you approach Hastings along Karamu Road, about 1km past the 70km sign the Showgrounds are visible on the right. Use Gate B with the Summit stone entrance on Karamu road.
