A joint Championship for both Onroad and Offroad cars held successively over one weekend.
General Information
The Southland Society of Model Engineers are NZRCA affiliated. The event will be run under the NZRCA code of conduct current at the time of the event. Please respect the facilities and other competitors. Any behaviour considered unacceptable by the event organisers may result in the offender being excluded from the event. The safety of everyone is paramount.

M-Chassis Mini - (Stock - 540 silver can)
Junior Rookie - any 1/10th EP car
Control Tyres
Offroad classes are open rubber tyres.
HINT: Typical carpet tyres all work on the race surface. Allow for greater wear than other surfaces and expect less steering at the highest speeds.
No mini pins allowed in onroad classes.
Rubber radials allowed in M Chassis - Mini. (No foam)
All Touring Car classes to use foam tyres.
HINT: You will be looking for tyres that a commonly supplied to the 1/10th Nitro Touring Cars. Look for shore ratings of 35 to 40 both front and rear. These compounds will provide an excellent starting point.

Three 5min. called staggered start heats for each class.
Single fastest round determines your finals starting position.

Rules

Junior Rookie
Short race program for our youngest racers. One practice run and one 5min final. Any car is permitted. If time permits maybe a third race can be added.
Touring Stock 21.5
Motor shall be the current approved R1 NZRCA control motor.
Original "Reds" NZRCA control motor will be allowed at this event.
Super GT (Tamiya TT02)
The class rules are outlined below:
Chassis.
Only Tamiya TT02 Chassis to be used, No Drift or S Version allowed.
Motor - TAM54358 Tamiya Torque Tuned Competitors are to supply their own motors. No Modifications are allowed to the plugs on the motor.
Electronic Speed Controllers (ESC)
Kit brushed motor ESC (supplied in kit), Or any QUICRUN Hobbywing 60Amp ESC.
No modifications to Motor plug or switches, Battery plug can be changed to terminal / bullet style connectors.
Gearing, Tamiya 70T spur with a maximum of 25T pinion.
Minimum Weight ready to race is 1350grams.
Minimum Weight of body is 120grams.
Body Shells,
Any commercially available Licensed 1/10 Scale style body shell of the following types can be used.
1/10 GT Type
1/10 Muscle Car
1/10 Vintage Tranz-am
1/10 Replica Touring Car
Wings, only wings that come with the body shell set maybe used. Bodies can be 200mm Wide, wheel spacers are allowed to achieve 200mm width. Wedge or modern 190mm TC Shells are not permitted.
Batteries, only 7.4V Lipo or 7.2V NICAD, NiMh, Capacity is open.
No shorty packs.
Charging rules as per NZRCA
Wheels and Tyres, Rims must be of Spoke design, Tyres are open width of foam (carpet only) or treaded tyres, No Drift Tyres.
Option Parts Permitted:
Bearings
Oil filled shocks and spring tuning sets.
Aluminium motor mount (Tamiya or other)
Aluminium wheel hex drives 5mm (Tamiya or other)
Aluminium centre drive shaft (Tamiya or other)
Tamiya high torque servo saver.
Front UJ(Single joint only) (Tamiya or other)
Aluminium steering (no adjustable turn buckles)(Tamiya or other)
Any option parts available that are not on the above list are NOT allowed.
M-Chassis Mini (IRCR Club Spec)
Any commercially available two wheel drive M-Chassis is allowed, (FWD or RWD) with wheelbase up to 239mm.
Only 540 Silver Can Brushed Motor allowed. No Sport or Torque Tuned versions.
As per NZRCA rule A19.8 Only 16, 17, 18, 19 or 20 tooth pinions to be used. Maximum Final Ratio of 5.776 : 1
ESC and servo choice is open.
Tyres for carpet meetings: Any 60D Treaded Rubber Radial on M-Chassis 42mm dia wheel.
Any option parts for M-Chassis may be used.
Any body parts set moulded for the purpose of fitting an M-Chassis may be used.
Only batteries as per Rule A10 may be used. Modifying the chassis to fit batteries is not permitted.
Minimum weight limit 1230grams.
Scruitineering
It is the competitors responsibility to ensure their car complies with the class rules for this event.
Scruitineering checks are available during free practice at race control. Random checks will be called throughout the meeting.
Prize Giving
Prize Giving Presentation for both Championships follow the conclusion of racing Saturday evening.
Lap Timing
The event will be run using computerised lap counting via LiveTime software and AMBrc4 system.Decoder uses the latest firmware - older tranponders DO NOT WORK.Invercargill RC Racers have 10 club transponders that can be assigned if required.Indicate on your entry if you require a club assigned transponder.(You may need to share)
Marshalling
Every competitor must marshal the race immediately following their own, unless physically disabled or scheduled in back to back races. In these circumstances, the competitor must appoint a substitute marshal and advise the Race Director.
Frequencies
Please indicate on your entry if you will not be running a 2.4Ghz radio.

There is power available for general use during the meeting.
Water
The venue has comprehensive kitchen and ablution areas. WE clean them before we exit.
Food
The club will provide tea and coffee, The venue has a commercial kitchen if you'd like to bring a heat up.
