It’s Back!Our annual VTA fun day is back for 2023 with some tweaks to the program and classes. This year we have added some new classes to include other “retro" cars.This event is a fun day out with classic race cars, catering to most interests.

We've kept the race fees low, Please spend the money on a killer body!
Race fees are $15 per driver for HBRC club members. and any other NZRCA affiliated club members.
Non Members: $20 Per Day

VTA 1. Vintage Trans Am ProCurrent 2021 NZRCA 21.5 Spec class rules.With a Trans Am body & spoked wheels (no dish rims). Tyres are open.Winner: “First Past the Post” as per normal race procedure.
VTA 2. Vintage Trans Am Sportsman“Stock” Motor (ie Silvercan or Torque Tuned brushed motor, 21.5 or 25.5 Brushless, or something similar.Blinky Mode for brushless motors).Trans Am body and spoked wheels (no dish rims). Tyres are open.Winner: Decided on Consistency as determined by computer, not “First Past the Post”.
Retro Sedan Sportsman“Stock” Motor (ie Silvercan or Torque Tuned brushed motor, 21.5 or 25.5 Brushless, or something similar.Blinky Mode for brushless motors).Any historical racing sedan body (based on a real car, pre 2000) and spoked wheels (no dish rims). Retro M-ChassisCurrent 2021 NZRCA M-Chassis Spec class rules (except wheels, see below).Any M-Chassis body based on a real car from pre 2000.Any 60 diameter M-chassis rims & tyres.Winner: “First Past the Post” as per normal race procedure.
Retro F1Current 2021 NZRCA F1 class rules.Pre 2000 body based on a real Formula One car.Winner: Decided on Consistency as determined by computer, not “First Past the Post”.
Retro / Exotic
Chassis: Any 2WD or 4WD 1/10th onroad car.‘Stock’ Motor: Silvercan or Torque-Tuned brushed motor,21.5 or 25.5 brushless motor with Blinky Mode, or somethingsimilar. No ‘Mod’ motors.Body: Any interesting / Exotic / Hot Rod body.Wheels & Tyres are open.
VTA bodies 1965 – 1973 American muscle car as used in original USA Trans-Am series.
Retro Sedan bodiesPre 2000 racing sedan as used in any global Touring Car series from that period.
Retro M-ChassisAny M-Chassis body based on a real car from pre 2000.
Retro F1Any F1 body based on a real Pre 2000 Formula One car.
We encourage all bodies to be painted in an authentic colour scheme from the period.
Lap Timing
MyLaps RC4 - Older firmware still allows older and off-brand transponders.
Marshalling
Drivers must marshal the race following their own.The first race will be marshalled by the drivers of the last race.A driver may arrange a competent substitute and notify the Race Director of such arrangements.
