Event Information

Dirt Oval Racing is back at NZ's home of the Dirt Oval Speedway, the Citrus Bowl. New lights, timing, track and hut have allowed us to re-ignite the dirt oval racing. The new Losi 22s Sprint car and Traxxas Modifieds are the key to allow us to get this disipline of racing sorted. We have a basic rule set, check it out here https://www.rir.nz/dirtoval and have a read. We are allowing Traxxas Modifieds/Late Models to run as Super Modifieds and Super Late Models, but at this stage will run the class together and identify the Supers with a coloured roof sticker/window banner, to allow those that want the ability to add "performance" to do so.

Entry Details

Bring warm clothes, and head torches. It is dark. We will have some pit lighting, but more is good. Power on site.

Classes Offered

Buggys: Any buggy is allowed, any motor, any tires.

Trucks: Any 2wd Stadium or SCT truck is allowed. Any motor, any tires, any body.

Ebuggy: Any Ebuggy or 4WD SCT. Any motor, any tires.

Juniors. Must run at 50% speed, equivalent to Traxxas Slash 12T on training mode.

Practice

Before racing starts 1600-1715

Qualifying

1x 15 lap qualifiers.

Best single lap over the qualifier rounds sets Mains.

Finals

Lowest Main 4 cars x 20 Laps

B Main 6 cars plus 2 bumps from lower finals 20 Laps

Feature race 4 fastest cars plus 4 bumps from the B 30-50 laps

Lap Timing

VOSTOK Timing.
Reads Vostok transponders or MRT, or AMB 2Wire. Cost $1000 for decoder, loop, test loop, software to operate. If you are in the market for a timing system, you should seriously consider these units. Call us for details.
We have also purchased 14 additional transponders that are transferable from car to car during the night if you don't have one of the ones listed above.

Marshalling

Someone needs to watch the track and tip cars over.

Pits

Power, Some lighting, bring a head torch/lamp to make moving around easier. Few tables. LED race display and TV for results.
